Most Healthy Bronx is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Visionary Scholars Award. This scholarship was created to support Bronx students who demonstrate a commitment to advancing health, equity, and opportunity in their community. After reviewing a strong pool of applications, we are excited to recognize the following students for their vision, originality, and impact: First Place — $1,000 Scholarship
Each of these students has shown remarkable dedication to creating a healthier, more equitable Bronx. Their essays highlighted the challenges our community faces and the innovative solutions they hope to bring forward in their studies and future careers. Jada Aryee — Cornell University, Human Biology, Health, and Society (Minor in Health Equity) Jada’s essay highlighted the health disparities in the Bronx and her commitment to advancing health equity through science and community engagement. She emphasized the importance of combining rigorous academics with grassroots service, aspiring to use her education in biological sciences to help close the health gap for underserved populations. Camille Abdoola — New York University, Psychology (Minor in Children and Adolescent Mental Health Studies) Camille’s essay centered on the importance of mental health in the Bronx, especially addressing stigma and access to care. She emphasized that mental health should be treated with the same urgency as physical health and shared her vision for creating safe spaces and resources that encourage wellness in underserved communities. Through her studies in public health, she hopes to champion initiatives that make mental health services more accessible and culturally sensitive. Jevon Bolt — Iona University, Finance
Jevon’s essay focused on the economic barriers that impact health outcomes in the Bronx. He connected his finance background to the need for stronger financial literacy, investment in local businesses, and equitable access to resources. His vision for the Bronx ties financial empowerment to better community health and long-term stability.
